My son has a lot of medical issues but on top of that worry, I fear that other people will be mean to him when I am not there to defend him. He is five and I am already looking into self-defense classes for him. The world is a very scary place. Well said, he’s special just like every child is but, he’s going to need just a little more understanding and that’s where good parenting comes in on the behalf of other people so you are so right to teach your children about compassion and love and acceptance of others who may be different from us.
